Global Action on Aging thanks Aukje de Vries for sharing her life with us over the last four months via her blog. Aukje has a strong commitment to social justice and according older women and men the respect and material means that we justly deserve. She gave readers a window into her life at home, in her encounters with authorities, in many aging organizations, among her friends, or at the theater, on her bike and at the beach. Aukje spotted injustice among policymakers and bureaucrats and described the careless ignorance of older persons’ needs she encountered. Most importantly, she shared her joys with us.
